Under: Tips

Spending a little too much time on Facebook?
There are dozens of ways for the resourceful web surfer to hide his idle clicks.
The problem with most of them, is that they are just too reasonable. Enter this little hack from Screencastr. For it, you will need the following:
D.I.Y. Motion Sensor
Once you have all of this set up, it’s a pretty straight-forward hack. Install Dexpot and set a hot-key to switch from your “work” desktop to your “play” desktop (ALT-2 works well). Set the webcam up to point towards the door you are trying to monitor. Afterwords, set Webcam Zone Alarm Trigger’s motion detector to trip whenever anyone opens the door — set the action to press the hotkey that you choose earlier.
That’s it.
Now you have your very own motion sensitive “Boss Alarm.” Now the trick is installing it without anyone thinking that you took the NSA up on their job offer.
