“Inventor: A person who makes an ingenious arrangement of wheels, levers and springs, and believes it civilization.” — Ambrose Bierce
Ever wonder how to get information off of a dead Laptop? You could spend upwards of $100 to have someone do it for you, or you could try this.
Recover Your Data
1. Pick up this handy USB Drive Enclosure for about $25.
2. Remove the hard drive from your dead hardware.
3. Attach it to the enclosure and plug the USB cable into a working computer.
4. Mount the drive if necessary.
5. Copy the files over. It should behave like any other external hard drive.
You should be able to do this same trick with any hard drive enclosure with a little bit of elbow grease. 9 out of 10 times it’s easier than taking it into the shop.
