“All of the biggest technological inventions created by man – the airplane, the automobile, the computer – says little about his intelligence, but speaks volumes about his laziness.” ~Mark Kennedy

When designing a product, tap into your inner lack of drive. There is a reason that productivity is such big business and lack of motivation is it. left to our own devices, most people are mind-numbingly lazy. The next time you are wondering why someone finds your site difficult to use, or why people keep complaining about your interface, try thinking of it in terms of laziness.

  • What can you change to make it that much easier for people not to think?
  • What can you add to give people more value for less effort?
  • Is there some way to reduce the number of clicks?
  • Do you really need all of those input fields?

Remember, Edison didn’t invent the light bulb, he was just the one who made it accessible to real people.
