It's not so much a secret, as a little known fact about me.  I can name every American president by number, and have been able to do so since I was about 10 years old.

I know it doesn't seem like much, but the history of our country is something that is dissappearing, being forgotten.  Kids don't like history, it's boring and our education system teaches myth interspersed with fact.  Our history informs our future, without it we have no sense of who we are, as Americans and as citizens of this world.

Most people see it as useless retention of trivial knowledge, I see it as a way of reminding myself that those who came before us paved the way for the life we now live.

Starting the day with a bike ride at 6:30 am. I ride up the hill and as I ride, I will let my mind wander. By the time I get home, I will have settled some issues, come up with an idea, had an epiphany, and sweated out a bunch of stress. The day then starts fresh and I am energized.

That is my secret. To be able to use your brain as the main muscle of the day, you have to look after all the other ones first. A healthy mind needs a healthy body. Then I follow that with 10 cups of coffee.
