Thanks for both the ideas. I've actually considered Joomla (I have worked with it in the past). The learning curve was, as you said, steep. We are (already) seeing WordPress management be a nightmare, so I totally understand what you're saying. I'm thinking we may need to revisit that platform.

I'll check on the phpLD as well. I saw mention of it somewhere, but (lazy me) was hoping for an elaborately designed and highly effecient free plugin

If it were me, I would use Joomla instead of Wordpress for this type of venture.

Wordpress is great for blogs, but for a multi-faceted site, Joomla offers many more options. It looks very professional and is much more flexible. I think it would probably be a better fit, but the learning curve is steep. Some of the nicer extensions/modules require a license fee, but there are plenty of free ones that work well.

There are also several open source directories that you could use. phpLD is one that is used a lot.

Having a full time work is great thing for every individual but sad to know the negative feedback about it, especially when it comes from the word TIME.Time is the most important thing in our life and to our family.but for the sake that we could provide our daily needs we forgot about it.

I wholeheartedly agree with you distinction between content and good content…we definitely want good content! I've actually got a connection at a nearby liberal arts college that might prove useful in finding a good candidate. Excellent suggestion! Thanks for the input.

It takes a lot of time to learn about your topic before writing an article yourself if you don't already know about it. Just writing content and writing GOOD content are two different things.

College students are still by far the cheapest solution I've seen to having GOOD original content written for your website or blog.
