Montreal

As a part of my continuing look at Tech culture across the world, I wanted to show you the response I received from Julien Smith over at In Over Your Head.

He is a designer, podcaster and entrepreneur working out of Montreal,Canada.

Here is what he had to say.

In Over My Head

Ok, in Montreal where I come from, we have a web culture that’s very centered around a certain cafe, called Laika, named after the first dog to be shot into space.

A lot of webheads gather there kind of informally, so we have a kind of culture that develops around that. Nonetheless, there is a large division between languages here, and the French and English populations generally do not mix very much.

The startup culture here is just barely blooming, but we have a TON of freelancers here who specialize in one web thing or another.

Web 2.0 Roundup

Thanks to Julien for taking the time out to answer this question. I would love to hear from the rest of you. What is the web like where you are from? How has the Internet become a part of your culture?
