I don't get fame either. I prefer being a low-profile person that few people recognize. Just being known by the people that I care about is enough for me.

Yup, fame is what people crave alright. They just don't seem to get enough of it. It's a way of getting away from their normal lives for a brief moment and see fame by indulging in the lives of famous peoples, human nature it is.

I agree, there's a lemming theory happening with the way people follow celebrities, with the way they buy all apple products, etc. Fame is all relative. And what's better still is the way celebrities have to hide when they go out on the town in hats and shades. That doesn't seem all that fun.
