I am opening up the nominations for the Open Web Awards on this site bright and early. Here are a few simple instructions to make sure that you get your site into the running. As always, if you have any questions please send me a message.

Categories

I will be acting as a judge for the following categories. If your web application fits into one of these, then I’m the person that you should be submitting to. Otherwise, I am sure some of the other blog partners will be more than willing to take you into consideration.

3. Social News and Social Bookmarking
4. Social Search
5. Video Sharing
6. Music
7. Niche and Miscellaneous Social Networks

Nominations

What I need you to do is either send me an email or leave me a comment here. When you do it should look like this.

NOMINATION – Name of App – Category – URL

NOMINATION – Facebook – Mainstream Network – http://www.facebook.com

I would also appreciate it if you left me a brief description of what the app actually does. If you see an application on the list that you would like to vote for (even if you aren’t submitting anything) be sure to leave me something like,

VOTING – Name of App – Category

VOTING – Facebook – Mainstream Network

The nominations with the most votes have the best chance of making it into the running.

Some things to note.

• You can submit an application that you didn’t make.
• You can submit multiple applications.
• You can make a submission and vote on an application that isn’t the one you submitted.
