I’m not going to feel terribly sorry for anyone whose net worth can be measured in the millions, but when it comes to Silicon Valley a pretty decent argument can be made that single digit millions simply doesn’t cover it these days. I think, Hal Steger, one of the men profiled in the New York Times article on the subject said it best.

“I know people looking in from the outside will ask why someone like me keeps working so hard. But a few million doesn’t go as far as it used to. Maybe in the ’70s, a few million bucks meant ‘Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous,’ or Richie Rich living in a big house with a butler. But not anymore.â€
The question that I pose to you is whether or not you feel that Silicon Valley millions are all they are cracked up to be? Would it be better to innovate outside of the valley rather than constantly push yourself along the Valley treadmill?
