In one of the more clever moves on Microsoft’s part in a while, their newest laptop mouse will come bundled with 1 GB of memory. Certainly, you can probably pick up a 1 GB memory stick for about the price of a extra value meal at McDonalds, but sometimes the real beauty of design is not needing to get two devices when one should suffice.

The Mobile Memory Mouse 8000 doesn’t come cheap, if you want one of these babies you will need to put down $99. For the price, though, you get a solid piece of hardware. It is rechargeable, contains that memory that I spoke about, and allows you to switch between Bluetooth connectivity and 2.4 Ghz Wireless. Here is a brief rundown on the charging system.
From CNN Money,
The Mobile Memory Mouse 8000 uses an innovative magnetic charging system that lets consumers continue working while the mouse recharges. The charging cord magnetically connects at one end to the underside of the mouse, and the other to the tip of the transceiver. Now consumers never have to interrupt their work when the battery is low or give up an extra USB port to recharge their mouse. The included AAA rechargeable battery also offers more than three weeks of battery power on a full charge.
This mouse will be available this October.
A mouse is a mouse is a mouse, unless of course a mouse is also a memory stick. Great work Microsoft for adding a little flair to a less than exciting peripheral. Know about any other cool device hybrids? Contact me here.
