Score one for the bloggers. Mainstream media has been caught in a couple of lies lately. First on the docket, the folks at little green football have discovered that Reuters may have slightly exaggerated about a picture of destroyed buildings in Beirut. Who needs fact when you have flashy photoshop effects?


In other news, Wired magazine managed to save itself from this sort of bad press by catching its own crooks in house. Wired reports that Philip Chien, a contributing writer with a thing for “space historians” may have fabricated three articles by attributing quotes to sources that when checked, strangely enough shared Chien’s IP address (one of them may have been dead). Funny world…
