OSCON 2005

I have recently been really big into the idea of Identity 2.0. In fact, an ongoing project of mine is taking a stab at furthering the concept of interweb accountability. I’ll get to that at some other point later. This is an espresso blog, I can’t drag on forever.

Identity 2.0 for those who aren’t bored enough with life to memorize each and every buzzword to pass through the filter is the concept that as the internet grows more information rich the need for an easy way to complete identity transactions is necessary.

No one really wants to have to ‘log in’ to the hundreds of new web 2.0 services that have become so invaluable to us digital citizens. It would be far nicer if we could carry our identity around like a credit card or a drivers license. It would also be nice if we were able to have some way to tell who we can trust in ‘places’ like the blogosphere.

That is Identity 2.0.

This blog does and will feature a few of the early attempts at internet identity, one of which you may have already noticed if you tried to post a comment. Think of it as an experiment in Technosociology.

If you want to learn more about Identity 2.0, follow the link above and watch a few presentations by the current guru — Dick Hardt.

Or drop me a line, I’ll be glad to type your eyes out about it.

If you enjoyed that why not find a job or read our guide to working in the 21st century. You can also join our Kiva team or hire me for your project.
