Peopleized

In an ironic turn, I recently had a chance to interview a company whose product is designed to help drive blogger traffic through interviews. Peopleized is a startup that is just about ready to launch. The two founders are Halil Mandal and Euripidis Kitsos, both out of Stuttgart Germany. Halil was kind enough to sit down with us for an interview.

The Questions

Tell us Halil, what is Peopleized and how did you come up with the idea for the product? What problem were you trying to solve?

We came up with the idea when we saw that a lot of blogger have very good content and still have a problem getting traffic, so we started Peopleized. The goal is to give readers access to new and interesting blogs by using the interviews as a “behind-the-scenes” tool to help them gain interest to the content.

I’ve run across the exact same problem. I don’t know how many fantastic blogs I see everyday that appear to get far less traffic than they could if they could only be promoted more strongly. I’m sure their authors will really appreciate this effort.

The only problem I see is the classic issue with Web 2.0, getting an initial user base. How are you planning to solve the problem?

We are building Peopleized up in very easy and user friendly way with great fun factor. At launch we are very focused that our first users will see fast results and hopefully help us to spread the word.

A lot of time, there really isn’t anything much better than word of mouth advertising. Quality and content is king.

You have a very small team, do you ever run into any problems as a result? What has been the biggest challenge you have faced while trying to launch your product?

Yes we are a small team. Everyday we run into some small or big problems. I think that´s a part of the process to launch with a internet start up. The biggest challenge that we had was with our interview tool that we have specially programmed for Peopleized. Now that it is done (this will be the biggest part of the fun factor from Peopleized), we are soon ready to launch.
