For anyone still concerned that the evil search engines will be selling their information to the DOD, I have some good news for you. CNET has taken the time to search the privacy policies of the major engines and provide us with a roundup of how they compare. As it turns out, for the most privacy conscience the search solution of choice is Ask.com. They keep your records for a matter of hours, they don’t store your information and they don’t link your search records with your IP.

The caveat goes as it always does, chances are very good that your search information will never be used against you. More than likely, your searches have been recorded and tracked for years and if Google really decided to do something with them they would have more than enough source information to work off of.

If, however, with this in mind you still want to protect your privacy you may want to look into Ask.
