Despite my best efforts, I cannot help but hop on the bandwagon of those who hate the idea of universal DRM. While I could make a rather good argument as to why the idea of “trusted computing” is inherently flawed, it is sometimes easier to watch a video.
The basic principle is this, where there is DRM there will always be those who will find a way around it. The vast majority of people who will be negatively affected by DRM are those who would never think about breaking copyright laws in the first place. The idea of criminalizing an entire population because of your view the human beings are inherently criminal is at best, ludicrous.
With that said, take a look at this tirade against “trusted computing”. If nothing else, it might give you a reason to learn more about what’s happening in the world of DRM.
