Well, GS Lite is slick — no way I was going to pass that up.

You should check out the Mackay book. Once you get past the somewhat antiquated language (it was written in 1841), it is a fascinating read. There's a version of it on Gutenberg: http://www.gutenberg.org/etext/24518 and on Google Books.

I haven't but I have read “A Random Walk Down Wall Street” which has some pretty hilarious case studies along those lines. Thanks for the GS write up yesterday, by the way.

Popularity and perception are very influential…why else would people fight each other to the death and be willing to pay hundreds of dollars over a Tickle Me Elmo. at Christmas…when it can be bought at ANY other time of the year for less than $30!!!

A less sophisticated example, I know.
