Given that Facebook was set up as a social utility rather than a business marketing facility it would seem that facebook also works for a local and international business. Nice info

Facebook is really useful platform for many local and other business. Facebook have already introduce many new features for them like Facebook Pages and Facebook Groups, By which you can interact directly with your customers and other people who are interested in your brands and services.

I haven't tried myspace yet. I think people are having social overload. there's myspace, facebook, friendster, orkut, ...etc. I hope there's a social network bridge out there so that people can just maintain one and they get connected to everything.

Rick, I agree with you. Maybe we're just saturated wth hearing about it. Anyway MySpace still has about 100m. users to Facebook's 70m.<br>I think it is an extremely useful site for college & school students to keep in touch & a great place for them to have fun, but beyond that, a lot of people think they have better things to do.

Given that Facebook was set up as a social utility rather than a business marketing facility it would seem unfair to judge it's usefulness on the basis of the later. As a simple means of keeping in touch with a lot of friends globally with limited time it seems to work quite well!
