This was an awesome movie.. and your right, their were multiple monsters.

Nikolai – saw it last night – you are basically on the money.

1 huge monster – multiple little monsters fall off the big guy – the small ones are insect like: mix between spider,grasshopper, beetle. They are fast and can climb anywhere. They bite with big chompers – can inflict damage / some sorta infection when truly bit not simple scratches. A human with a bat could hurt the little suckers.

Huge monster just keeps getting shot my military – HUGE, lonnnng arms (multiple / two gigantic ones in front that bend like a grasshopper and prob him up) and lonnnng tail. Wrecks buildings bc so big. Humanoid / insect/ alien face. Big W shaped mouth / round head. Has red membranes at top of head that seem like respirators for breathing

I don't disagree at all. Quite the contrary actually….. However, the military presence alone suggests a much more elaborate use for acronyms. Not to mention the fact that the “monster may not be the most accurate” clue fits well. Besides, my theory is just so……. OUT-THERE!!!!LOL!

BTW, HUD stands for Heads Up Display, he probably is killed by something falling, or from something he didn't see but would have if he hadn't been looking in the camera “Heads Up!”, look out!

the clue is “ster” in italycs in mon-ster i.e. “mon'ster' may not be the most accurate word to describe what's in the movie” … monster's' would be a better description.

Is the cameraman's name “HUD”? There is an implication that people can be bitten by the monster. This implies that there must be 2 types of monster, one being smaller than the other. Otherwise, a chomp from a “GODZILLAESQUE” creature would completely obliterate an average sized human. The implication of being bitten also infers that an infection could be transmitted. Could the smaller of the two be an offshoot of the larger or a smaller infected creature? Being able to kill people underground and above, would imply being in 2 places at once. Being small enough to get underground, would lead to the notion that this is how a monsters bite wouldn't destroy a human body but rather infect it. If this is the case and the cameraman's name is “HUD”? Could the irony be that “HUD” stands for “HUGE URBAN DESTROYER” and “HUMANOID UNDERGROUND DWELLER”???????????????

i think the clue might be where it says monster may not be the best way to decribe whats in the movie. i mean obviously thats an intersting observation but if you look at the second half of monster it is italicized. maybe your supposed to place something else where ster is idk but it seems logical to me anyway
