YouTube is a fantastic place to share your best content with the world — everything from adorable home videos of a favorite, family pet to that misdemeanor that you just can’t help but memorialize.

Recently, three upstanding citizens from Rialto, California took advantage of this great, untapped potential to show the world two things:

  • How to scam a Del Taco into giving you free food.
  • How to produce high quality evidence to ensure a quick conviction when the police inevitable catch up with you.

To Catch A Thief

How were these master thieves caught?

Well, someone tipped the police off to the video. This gave the cops among another things a physical descriptions of each of scammers as well a good look at what their car looked like. It didn’t take much sleuthing to track them down after that.

The ring leader, Robert Echeverria, managed to swindle seven tacos, a large order of fries, two sodas and two quesadillas with extra chicken — about $15 worth of food.

All it cost him was 30 days in jail.
