I Love Facebook eventhou it's cruel or drool. Hahaha

But I hate rejecting people who I don't know, never met, never been introduced by some one or by themselves.

I feel guilty rejecting unknown friends. Sometimes when I accept them as a friend, we just simply say hello and no more.

It's like greeting unknown person at the corridor except it's in the virtual world.

The difference is greeting unknown people at the corridor doesn't know about my life.
But in facebook, after I accept an unknown friends then just say "hi". Is dumb.
These unknown friends can know everything about us once we accept them. That really freak me out.

Anyway, I love facebook.
That is just my negative experience with facebook.

In part, agree with Vinod. It depends on the friend type & the site. Random friend requests typically on say MySpace, are less 'hangers-on' to most users, they're simply meaningless. You don't even know for certain that they exist & in fact they might not & might as well not.
But on more serious sites eg. Open Coffee Club, Linkedin, friend acceptance gives access to people who admittedly, you didn't know before existed, but some of whom will have similar interests & the 'friending' provides a platform which makes it okay to message them for views etc.

I agree that in the case of network friends, you have no real personal contact, no intention of ever having a personal contact nor are you completely aware that these people are actually your friends. But still they prove to be useful many a times as the experiences in a common pursuit can be shared. You sometimes get professional type advice, very much needed for your network business. For personal friends, one has of course to be in personal or emotional touch, for which you have to physically contact the persons. Anyhow, this is my opinion. Thanks.
