The advancement of technology and how affordable it has become does mean that your average Joe is a walking journalist. However, on the other hand, doesn’t the influx of citizen journalism mean news channels can put their feet up and use our material instead of putting in the work themselves? I also wonder if these news channels are actually paying for all the citizen reportage they receive.
