The clock is tick, tick, ticking away on 2009 and as the year breaths it’s final breathe, everyone and his mother is putting together best of lists to round out the holiday season.

Since I would hate to disappoint, I wanted to give you all a list of my own to chew on as you make your way through your post-New Years “I’m serious about the diet this time” chip bowl.

What’s it about?

If the title didn’t give it away, it’s about six things I believe every entrepreneur should know going into, well, any year:

    1. You can’t predict the future, though you should try to come close.

    2. You’ll never be perfect, though you should try to come close.

    3. You’ll fail over and over again. If you aren’t failing, that’s a sign you need be doing more interesting stuff.

    4. The only way to learn anything at all is to do it over and over again until your brain is too annoyed at you to forget it.

    5. Everyone has something to say, everyone is interesting. It’s up to you to have the humility to accept this and learn from as many people as you can.

    6. You are always wrong, the faster you get used to that the better. Once you know you’re always wrong, you are free to change and adapt. Stagnation is death.
