There are all the colloquialisms, dialects, accents, jargon, slang, 'in talk' & regional differences. Pllus people speak quickly & all over the place. So you learn a language & you learn it over again.

This is especially important with language. It is better to learn from someone's experience in this subject than it is to rely soley on the phonics that dictionaries may offer.

Good point Ken. Though, they are still a really young site and they are not incredible text rich. Once they get a few more users and the backlinks start coming in, hopefully things will look a bit better from a SEO standpoint.

Seems like a great concept. I am studying Spanish on my own now and it would be great if there was a similar site for Spanish.

It seems like search engine optimization would be a good exercise for Kantalk. They are a no-show for “Learn English” and I would think getting good results for that phrase would drive a lot of traffic.

Nice change to see a really useful site which helps with a real problem. Languages as they are spoken are nothing like what is learnt from textbooks. There are all the colloquialisms, dialects, accents, jargon, slang, 'in talk' & regional differences. Pllus people speak quickly & all over the place.
So you learn a language & you learn it over again.
Even in the UK which is comparatively small, English is spoken very differently in Scotland, England & Wales with totally different slang terms & in phrases.
Eg. in Scotland, bairn = child, ken = know, loch = lake & 'gallous' = cool.
It's difficult enough when people come from the same country.
