Honestly, I don't know were you get your information from. It is so easy to check your sources, but you seem to have no idea. Spain is the third largest producer of wind energy in the world, with 16,740 MW installed in 2008. Britain had 3,288 MW. (Wikipedia).

Stuff like this is always very well but people skirt around the issue that the cost is too high for solar and wind power to ever derive a significant amount of energy from them.

Wind power is not a solution. The whole truth about wind turbines is never told by lobbyists and governments.
How could the very weak and extremely unreliable initial energy source of a wind turbine ever produce a steady power of any significance?
