SKIN

Imagine a tattoo that you could change as easily as your last pair of pants. Imagine one that you could switch out with little more than a gesture, one that would shift to fit your mood. Phillip Design will be presenting a project that does just this at the upcoming Dutch Design Week.

The project, called SKIN, is only a mockup of a larger exploration of “sensitive” technology. These are systems designed to realistically react to the emotions of the user. Beyond providing an incredible new way to burn corporate brands onto your body, this system could be expanded to help build entirely new user interfaces. Imagine a website that could sense whether you were in a bad mood and changed its color scheme to be less jarring, or an iPod that designed a custom playlist to match a particularly good day.

If you are interested in the project and several other really interesting design mockups take a look at their official site.
