Sure, this doesn’t technically have anything to do with Web 2.0 but if you have any interest in technology at all you should probably take a look at this video. It’s a part of a podcast series put together by the Discover Channel. An absolutely brilliant theoretical physicist, Michio Kaku, takes a look at how technology and society are meeting to push us into the future.

Here are a few show notes.

  • What are the three “Types” of Civilizations?
  • Where do we rate on that scale (hint: not very high).
  • Will there be a universal culture, language and political system?
  • How does the Internet fit into all of this?
  • And the big question, will we make it?

There are a lot of compelling ideas here and Mr. Kaku does a good job of making reasonable explanations of all of them. Take a look and tell me what you think.
