Simplicity is the name of the game in Web 2.0. You want your pastels blending nicely into perfectly sized tags. Columns, who needs columns? Tables! You must live in the stone ages. Once most of your user interface has been thrown out, and you’ve picked your perfectly angular web 2.0 name — the next step is to come up with something for your widget to actually do.
Enter, DropBok. This is about as simple as it comes. You sign up (or not), you upload files and then you can either view or download them again. Signing up allows you to upload the files permanently, but if you just need a place to quickly store something for moving, you don’t even need to go that far. You get about 1 GB of storage and the kicker is that it’s free!
They use https encryption for security, but still I wouldn’t upload your most sensitive documents to their system if I were you. It’s a nice place to store some of the overflow you don’t care about. You know, like any new screen plays you might be working on or your next web 2.0 business model.
