Under: How To Know What To Use

I have been a card carrying member of Amazon’s Affiliate program for three years now and I have never sold a single item for them. The problem has always been that it is a huge pain to list any substantial amount of items and it is a bigger pain still to try to find a way to integrate their content into a site.
Today I recieved an email that changed all that. Amazon is now offering its associates the opportunity to create their own configurable store-front. Like Mitch Ratcliff of ZDnet, I decided to become a virtual clerk today and try it out.
Setup is a snap, you add a few items to your “Featured Products” list, you edit the look and feel of the page with easy to use pull down menus and then the system spits back a link with your new storefront, complete with shopping cart (take a look at mine). I wish that you could configure the general layout of the store a little more, but as a BETA product, this is the best thing Amazon has done for their Affliates program in years.
[Disclaimer - As I am sure you have worked out, all the store links contain my Amazon ID. If you are morally opposed to that sort of thing, I suggest clicking elsewhere.]
If you enjoyed that why not find a job or read our guide to working in the 21st century. You can also join our Kiva team or hire me for your project.
