Flickr currently stands at the top of the heap when it comes to photo sharing, but that does not mean that there aren’t other really interesting alternatives.

Enter FilmLoop. I am sure there are other more exciting photo sharing options, but what really makes FilmLoop stand out is its widget. There is nothing quite as exciting as seeing your photos stream by you as a film strip.

Also, lets not overlook the power of branding. As was mentioned by a commenter in Guy Kawasaki’s post on the subject (where you can also see an example of the strip), it would be really easy to copy the technology behind FilmLoop, but the name has real weight behind it. Much like Google is strongly associated with the idea of search, now that I have seen it, I will have a hard time disassociating this particular way of viewing pictures from FilmLoop.

Give it a look, if nothing else it will give you a break from geo-tagging your Flickr pictures.
