You’re reading this because working online is not quite enough for you. You want to live online. Or, at least, you want to transfer as much of your life as you can online. If you’re looking for a quick fix and you are between 18 and 26, just join MySpace (everyone else is). However, for a bit more subtlety try some of these options.

Social Bookmarking — Del.icio.us

Share your favorite sites with the masses.

Social Music — Last.fm

This is a great service, it plugs into iTunes and Windows Media Player and starts indexing the songs you listen to. After a while, it tells you all the people who, like you, also love the collected works of Journey, and produces a streaming radio station with songs that fit your preferences.

Social Blogging — MyBlogLog

MyBlogLog provides stats for bloggers. The nice thing about this service is that it also allows bloggers to form communities. If you are a new blogger looking for friends, it is a really friendly environment to operate inside.

Social Networking — LinkedIn

This is your online Rolodex. Make connections, share connections and use those connections to make other connections. Great for professionals or anyone who wants to meet others in their industry.

Social To-Do List — 43Things

43Things is a community of people who crowd around doing. You make a To-Do list and you can see who else wants to do similar things. It is simple, fun and may just make you more productive.

Social Photography — Flickr

Take photos, share photos, repeat.

Social…Society — Facebook

If you happen to be in college, or have access to a college email address (naughty you), then Facebook gives you an opportunity to connect with old friends and make new ones without all the annoyance of MySpace.

Do some of these or all of them, if nothing else it will give you something to talk about as you crowd around the water cooler in your Second Life
