In part one we started exploring how to turn your terrestrial domain into a mobile, digital empire. This time I add a few more services to the list to round things out.

Step Five — Avoid The Post Office

Did you know with just a little work you can send packages without leaving the comfort of your home? All you need to do is make a label and arrange for a package pick up. Since your mail carrier doesn’t have to make an extra trip, this service has no charge.

Step Six — Manage Your Customers

Running a business is difficult enough without having to invest in prohibitively expensive CRM tools. Enter the open source community to save your bacon. Sugar CRM is probably the best relationship management solution for small to medium sized businesses. It also offers enterprise tools (for a fee) for when your business grows.

Step Seven — The Brand That Is Me

Business cards. While this doesn’t exactly help you be more mobile, they are portable gate-keepers to your brand identity. If you are on a budget, take a look at VistaPrint. You can choose a template, upload a design of your own and for the price of shipping you can get 250 basic business cards for no additional fees.

Step Eight — Take Control of Large Files

Everyone should have external, off-site storage. If you don’t and you have anything of value on your drives, then you should go out right now and correct that. While you’re out there saving your data from thieves and pirates, take a look at Mozy. They offer 2GB of free storage that automatically backs up the folders that you choose while your computer is idle. I’ve been using it for months now and have never felt more secure.

Step Nine — Explore…And Report Back.

This article should probably be titled, “How To Make A Never-Ending List of Internet Tools”. There are so many tools out there to help you go mobile, now it is time for you to explore. Once your finished, report back with what you’ve found to help you be productive.
