Under: How To Hack Your Life

I hate spam, but I like web widgets. My dark secret, however, is that I have an obsession with web widgets that allow me to pretend to be a spammer.
Who has not wanted to walk the fine line between internet prankster and shiller of off-brand pharma and bogus stock quotes?
Deadfake is a service that allows you to do just that. It is a website that lets you to send spoofed emails that appear to be coming from any domain that your heart desires (as long as it’s real). Note, I have not really checked this site out for an extensive period of time, so I would not recommend entering the addresses of people you actually care about. They say that they aren’t spammers, but there is no way to know for sure.
All risk aside, it’s a lot of fun. Before you say it, I know that spoofing email addresses is not exactly rocket science, but to be able to do so without the leg work is a great time sink. Give it a run, but try not to let it seduce you to the dark side.
