Creating a product name does not only differentiate you from your competitors, it also forces you on a daily basis to improve and differentiate yourself.
The differences you have may have led you to the creation of a product name, but they are sure to be copied. So what happens is you have a product name which is not much different anymore from what your competitors have. So you end up changing it, improving it, updating it etc.

I disagree. The name should be something unique with no meaning. Think of google and yahoo. Do they mean anything? Well now they do :) Do you know why google doesn't want the term 'to google' to be put in the dictionary? They want it to remain special!

I think making a name would be a good thing, so people know what to look for and they can tell other people about it. It will make things easier.

Create the term but try to be as general as possible. It's great to have a cute, specific product name but if you are trying to come up with the name for the micro-industry you work with in pick words that people interested in your product might search for and be drawn to you because of.

In your case something + advertising would be a good starting point.

If the service is truly unique and different from your other services, then, yes, you should create a product name for it. In the long run, you'd be able to establish a special brand name for such service that belongs to you alone.

I've been through this problem myself. I've launched a service in a yet-to-be-defined market where there isn't really a term. I've used the phrase "hand stamp advertising" but others use "skinvertising" "handvertising" and some other combinations. I tried to think about what someone would search for rather than a simple name. Worth thinking about it from this perspective perhaps?

Definitely, as the product name is the brand that will play an important role for our service and we should not neglect it...
