You might remember the little experiment we were running on the blog a few weeks back, Startup Reactor. If you forgot, this program were a series of case studies where we followed the exploits of five entrepreneurs at various stages of their product cycle.
Over the last few weeks, we have been streamlining the program to make it easier for the companies participating. Starting tomorrow, we will be relaunching it.
The way this will work is that over the next four weeks, each of the participating startups will be journaling their experiences. You’ll get a peek at the trials, tribulations and triumphs of running a startup. At the end of every week, you will have the opportunity to pick the idea that you think has the most teeth.
After it’s all said and done, the idea with the most votes will receive honor, glory and a prize of some sort.
Couldn’t be simpler. For those who don’t remember, here are the five startups participating in this cycle:
Transpondr
Transpondr is a simple podcast tracking and analytics solution to help you get an accurate count on how many people are listening to your podcast.
Transpondr’s reporting tools allow you to navigate the statistics of your podcast at the overall podcast level as well as the individual episode level.
The unique way Transpondr works allows us to offer options for helping with bandwidth. For the popular podcasters, we offer the ability to upgrade your account and start leveraging a global content distribution network to deliver files quickly and in an affordable manner.
LogoBids
If you need a graphics designer, but don’t have the big budget to hire one in house, then LogoBid.com is for you! You set the price and provide your requirements and we find designers to compete for your business. You will have direct access to each designer and only pay the designer that provided the best design of your choosing.
If you are a graphics designer, LogoBids.com is a great way to expand your portfolio. Even if you do not get selected as a winner, we will help you sell your entries in our marketplace.
Publicitr
Publicitr.com was created as a solution for small to medium sized organizations that want to gain international exposure for their product or service. Businesses can now achieve wide spread exposure without the exorbitant cost of large PR and advertising firms. Utilizing the perfect mesh of technology, market research, and marketing strategies, users can submit content across the web, without wasting time or expense on non-relevant exposure. A simple three step system allows the user to submit the content, watch as it spreads across the net, and track the results real time.
Siphs
Siphs has created a “share-this/tell-a-friend” service that helps bloggers/publishers and small businesses spread the word about their content or their products and services. The current offering is a customizable button that lets people share a webpage via email or post the page to a number of leading social media sites. We noticed that large publishers, through the sharing tools on their site routinely pushed their brand and marketing message anytime their content was shared. No tool on the web permitted small publishers or small businesses to do the same so we thought, why not level the playing feed. If the big guys utilized these marketing tactics, then the small guys should be able to do the same. Your brand matters, so in every touch point you have with a reader or potential customer, your brand and your messaging should be front and center.
Zambino
Zambino is the first video advertising network geared toward connecting advertisers directly with content producers. Zambino works for everyone involved as a sustainable advertising program. Content producers create a profile on Zambino highlighting what brands interest them, and what type of products and services they want to promote within their videos. Advertising options range from preroll to product placement, and is up to the content producers.
Advertising companies then match up their products and services to the profiles, and provide content to make it a seamless video on YouTube. Zambino currently runs exclusively within the YouTube community, and has created unique and patent-pending tools to help advertisers and video creators track visits and views for statistics on how the user-produced content is performing, as well as how much money it has earned.
