For the second year running, I have the honor of being a judge for Mashable’s Open Web Awards. What I like about this event more than other similar “Internet prizes” is that Mashable has tried to put together a list of blog partners that represent a global perspective.

Last year they had over 50 international partners and this year they are shooting for 100. You can’t understand any technology by looking at it from one angle, by letting people come together from across the globe you get a much better picture of which technologies are making a real impact.

So where do we start?

How about this, you have the next few days to nominate your favorite web application. To do it, all you need to do is use the handy Poll Daddy widget embedded below. The applications with the most nominations will make it into the round of voting, so be sure to make your voices heard.

Also, be sure to take a look at some of the other participating sites (like Marketing Pilgrim and Inquisitr) to see their take on the event.
